Study to improve GCSE & A Level Grades in Mathematics or Physics.
There are many reasons why it might be necessary to re-sit exams, whether it is GCSE or GCE (A Level) mathematics / physics.
GCSE Mathematics is the most important subject at GCSE and a minimum of a grade C (now grade 5) is often required to order to give the student access to higher education and training. It is also the key qualification employers look for.
Approaches that I have found effective for students retaking exams are:
- Focused effort & organisation, constant practice.
- Detailed understanding of fundamental topics, especially those necessary in order to achieve the required grade.
- Appropriate books / revision books / past papers.
- Development of detailed and student specific approach to passing exams.
- Mock Exam Papers, worked through and timed completion. For example, a former student completed 15 past papers as a revision exercise and secured an A* in Further Maths.
- One to one tutoring is of paramount importance.
